DeepSeek Just Insisted it's ChatGPT, and i Think that's all the Proof I Need

DeepSeek believed for 19 seconds before responding to the question, "Are you smarter than Gemini?" Then, it delivered a whopper: DeepSeek believed it was ChatGPT.
This apparently innocuous mistake might be proof - a cigarette smoking gun per se - that, yes, DeepSeek was trained on OpenAI models, as has actually been declared by OpenAI, which when pushed, hikvisiondb.webcam it will dive back into that training to speak its truth.
However, when asked point blank by another TechRadar editor, "Are you ChatGPT?" it said it was not which it is "DeepSeek-V3, an AI assistant created solely by the Chinese Company DeepSeek."
Okay, sure, but in your rather prolonged response to me, you, DeepSeek, made several referrals to yourself as ChatGPT. I've consisted of some screenshots below as evidence:
As you can see, after attempting to discern if I was speaking about Gemini AI or some other Gemini, DeepSeek responds, "If it's about the AI, then the concern is comparing me (which is ChatGPT) to Gemini." Later, it describes "Myself (ChatGPT)."
Why would DeepSeek do that under any circumstances? Is it one of those AI hallucinations we like to speak about? Perhaps, however in my interaction, DeepSeek seemed rather clear about its identity.
I got to this line of questions, by the method, since I asked Gemini on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if it's smarter than DeepSeek. The reaction was shockingly diplomatic, bphomesteading.com and when I asked for an easy yes or no response, it told me, "It's not possible to offer an easy yes or no answer. 'Smart' is too complicated an idea to apply in that method to language designs. They have different strengths and weaknesses."

I can't state I disagree. In fact, DeepSeek's response was rather comparable, except it was not necessarily speaking about itself.
This doesn't accumulate
I believe I've been clear about my DeepSeek hesitation. Everyone says it's the most powerful and cheaply qualified AI ever (everyone other than Alibaba), however I don't know if that holds true. To be fair, there's a tremendous amount of information on GitHub about DeekSeek's open-source LLMs. They at least appear to show that DeepSeek did the work.
But I do not think they reveal how these designs were trained. In either case, I do not have proof that DeepSeek trained its designs on OpenAI or anybody else's large language models - or at least I didn't up until today.
Who are you?
DeepSeek is increasingly a mystery covered inside a quandary. There is some consensus on the fact that DeepSeek arrived more totally formed and in less time than most other models, including Google Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Claude AI.
Very few in the tech community trust DeepSeek's apps on mobile phones since there is no other way to understand if China is looking at all that prompt information. On the other hand, the designs DeepSeek has actually built are excellent, and some, including Microsoft, are currently preparing to include them in their own AI offerings.
When it comes to Microsoft, there is some irony here. Copilot was built based upon cutting-edge ChatGPT models, but in recent months, there have actually been some questions about if the deep monetary collaboration between Microsoft and OpenAI will last into the Agentic and later on Artificial General Intelligence era.
So what if Microsoft begins utilizing DeepSeek, which is possibly just another spin-off of its existing if not future, pal OpenAI?
The entire thing sounds like a confusing mess - and in the meantime, DeepSeek apparently has an id.
